We would like to inform and remind you that CaixaBank, S.A. (joint stock company) Branch in Poland DOES NOT offer loans, savings products or any other products and services to individuals and small businesses, nor does it engage in soliciting such customers.
We have discovered that fraudsters are impersonating the CaixaBank brand, introducing themselves in e-mails or over the phone as bank advisers working for CaixaBank.
As far as we know, the impersonators of CaixaBank employees offer, among other things, the recovery of funds lost by individuals due to various reasons.
The impersonators of CaixaBank employees suggest that there is a need to insure a cross-border transfer, pay a fee “for an IT company”, or may demand other unusual, non-banking, fees.
The impersonators of CaixaBank “assure” that such fees (often of a significant amount) are to facilitate the return of supposedly recovered funds.
Messages requesting payments of fees are sent from e-mail addresses suggesting that they come from CaixaBank or its employees. Additionally, the e-mails and their attachments (including offers and documents) use CaixaBank’s logo and elements of its visual identity and they contain legal information copied from our websites. This is to further convince the recipients that such messages and documents originate from CaixaBank.
The impersonators of CaixaBank employees may also ask you to install additional software on your phone or computer – DON’T DO THIS! The software can be harmful and serve as a tool for criminals to steal your money!
Remember! CaixaBank employees will not contact you by e-mail using public/commercial e-mail domains.
If you have received such a phone call or e-mail message, do not respond to it, do not click on any link and do not download or send any attachments. Report the fraud attempt to us by writing to: 9815@caixabank.com. We take this issue very seriously and are doing everything in our power to prevent it.
If you have shared confidential data, information about your payment methods or bank account, or have noticed suspicious transactions on your account or fraudulent transactions related to sending money, notify your bank adviser, abort the transaction as soon as possible and file a report at the nearest police station.
Please bear in mind that CaixaBank, S.A., branch in Poland only works with corporate clients in Poland. Furthermore, we do not have access to information on bank accounts that they hold with CaixaBank, S.A., in any other country than Poland.
