A firm commitment to society

The Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona, “la Caixa”, is an institution of a social nature whose fundamental aims are to contribute to the country's development, prevent the economic exclusion of certain social groups, and promote saving, investment and business initiatives.

Thanks to Community Projects, “la Caixa” helps those most in need, carrying out its social, educational, cultural and environmental programmes in accordance with the following principles:

The special sensitivity of “la Caixa” towards society is reflected in the recent launching of projects that include the promotion of accessible housing, prevention of violence and attention to those with advanced diseases. These and other projects reinforce “la Caixa” in its wish to make our society a better place to live.

Within this financial institution's international expansion process and owing to the dual nature of the financial and social services defining it, “la Caixa” maintains its commitment to extend its Community Projects to all those countries where its financial activity is available.
